Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer HiPhi has unveiled its latest creation, the HiPhi A, a high-performance GT that pushes the boundaries of automotive design and technology. With its aggressive aesthetics and advanced features, the HiPhi A represents a leap forward in the world of sports cars.
The reveal of the HiPhi A took place during a global live stream event, with a physical debut scheduled for the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show. The car showcases a four-door, four-seat fastback GT design that closely resembles its sibling, the HiPhi Z. However, the HiPhi A stands out with its upgraded appearance, featuring broader air intakes, a carbon-finished hood scoop, finned skirts, and a split wing at the rear.
Beneath the striking exterior, the HiPhi A boasts HiPhi’s first in-house-developed performance powertrain. The triple-motor, all-wheel-drive layout delivers a staggering 1,287 bhp, or approximately 1,341 horsepower. Each motor is equipped with a high-speed carbon fiber rotor, full oil cooling, and magnetic cylinder coil direct cooling, allowing for speeds of up to 22,000 rpm. The power is supplied by a high-capacity battery, capable of discharging 1.5 MW at its peak.
The combination of power and advanced technology results in impressive performance figures. The HiPhi A is estimated to achieve a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in less than 2 seconds, with a targeted top speed of nearly 186 mph (300 km/h). These acceleration capabilities surpass those of the HiPhi Z, demonstrating the HiPhi A’s superior performance potential.
The HiPhi A not only delivers raw power but also promises exceptional handling and agility. With a near-perfect 50:50 front-rear weight distribution, active rear-wheel steering, continuously variable damping, and torque vectoring, the HiPhi A offers precise performance on the track. The integration of advanced materials, such as carbon fiber and aluminum alloys, contributes to its low, balanced weight. Notably, the HiPhi A showcases the use of aircraft-grade TC4 titanium alloy for its interior and exterior trim, further emphasizing its futuristic appeal.
Inside the HiPhi A, passengers are treated to a luxurious and technologically advanced environment. Each of the four occupants enjoys their own independent seat, surrounded by forged carbon fiber and ambient mood lighting. The central touchscreen tablet is accompanied by the HiPhi Bot, a robotic arm that provides eight-way multi-axis adjustment, including landscape-portrait switching and tilting.
HiPhi plans to introduce the HiPhi A through a limited production run starting in early 2025. More details about this groundbreaking hypercar will be revealed as it approaches its launch. With its cutting-edge design, advanced materials, and superior performance, the HiPhi A represents the future of automotive engineering and sets new standards for hypercars globally.
